27 August, 2008 Oasis

There is the big hall called GM Place(General Motors) next my apartment.

The most famous British RockBand 'Oasis' do have a live concert there today!

I guess they do it in the world for support their new album in October now.

I knew the fact in the newspaper last night for the first time, moreover I had a job today.

So I really wanted to enjoy it, but actually I didn't have enough time to get a ticket and invite someone who like the Oasis.

Oh,my God!

By the way Backstreet Boys will also do a live concert there in Sepetember.

I'm not interesed in it, but I know famous bands or singers do it at GM Place.

I will be careful about a live schedule at GM Place.

アパートの隣にGMプレイス(ジェネラルモーターズ)と呼ばれるおっきいホールがある。
何と、今日そこであの最も有名なイギリスロックバンド’オアシス’がライブをしている！

１０月に発売する新しいアルバムの宣伝のため世界中をライブして周っているんだと思う。

そのことを昨晩、新聞で初めて知った上に今日は仕事がある。

ほんっとうにライブに行きたいが、実際にチケットを買ったりオアシスに興味がある友達を誘う時間は無い。

あーどうしようもない。

ちなみに９月にはそこでバックストリートボーイズもライブをやる予定。

それには興味は無いが、有名なバンドやシンガーがGMプレイスでライブをすることを知った。

今後はそこでのライブスケジュールに気をつけよう。

Today I could get a pay(a tip) for the first time in Canada!

I heard every two weeks I could get it and the average of tips as a dishwasher was about 120CAD.

Then it depends on that how hard the work was for two weeks.

But I worked just six days in last two weeks, so I guessed my tip would not so much.

My boss, Jason gave me the small envelope when I was working.

I opened it and found 1,2,3,4... four papers of 20 dollars! 80dollars CAD!

Ummm, it is as expected.

Anyway, this is the first pay for me in Canada!

I'm happy to have gotten it!

今日、カナダ初のお給料、チップを頂いた！

二週間ごとにディッシュウォッシャーは平均１２０ドルぐらいもらえると聞いた。

２週間がどれだけ忙しかったかにもよるらしい。

でも僕の場合は、この２週間の内たった６日しか働いていないのでそんなに多くは無いと思っていた

上司のジェイソンが小さな封筒を働いているときにくれた。

それを開けると、１・２・３・４・・・４枚の２０ドル札！８０ドル！

うーん、まさに予想通りといったところ。

とにかく、これがカナダでの初給料！

本当にうれしい。

24 August, 2008 Foods in Vancouver

There are a lot of Japanese restaurants like Izakaya, noodle shops, Teishokuya in Vancouver.

The picture above is one of them.

Moreover there is also the Japanese convinience store which is called 'Minnanokonbiniya' and the Japanese Karaoke shop.

Is this really Canada?

I think there is most Korean restaurants, secondly Japanese restaurants in downtown.

Korean foods like Toppogi, bibinba, cold noodle, Purukogi are really good.

I have been to a Japanese restaurant one time with Korean friends and enjoyed delicious Japanese foods.

But I want to enjoy other foods, so I avoid going to Japanese restaurants now as possible.

Canadian restaurant is a little bit expensive, but now I am satisfied because I can eat them at my workplace.

Then I have been to Indian restaurant with classmates and eaten curry with Nan before.

It was delicious too.

We can enjoy foods from various countries in Vancouver.

バンクバーには居酒屋、ラーメン屋、定食屋のような日本食レストランがたくさんある。

上の写真もそのうちの一つ。

その上、「みんなのコンビニ屋」と言われている日本のコンビニエンスストアやカラオケ屋まである。

ほんとにカナダかここ？

ダウンタウンには韓国レストランが一番多く、二番目に日本レストランが多いと思う。

トッポギ、ビビンバ、冷麺、プルコギといった韓国の食べ物はほんとにおいしい。

一回、日本食レストランに韓国人の友達と行っておいしい料理に舌鼓をうったことがある。

でも他の料理を楽しみたいのでできるだけ日本食レストランは避けるようにしてます。

カナダ食レストランは少し高いが今は仕事先で食べることができるので満足。

それから以前クラスメイトとインド料理屋に行ってカレーとナンを食った。

それも本当においしかった。

バンクーバーでは色んな国の料理を楽しむことができる。

23 August, 2008 Nikujaga

Today I tried to cook the Japanese traditional food 'Nikujaga' for the first time in my life.

It is often called 'Mother's cooking' in Japan.

I used a carrot, a potato, an onion and some pork.

Umm, they are similiar with materials when I made the tomato stew.

Then I made a seasoning with soy sauce, liquor, sugar.

Finished cook is like the picture above.

It was really delicious one, too.

I may have an ability of cooking.

今日は日本の伝統的料理、肉じゃがを我が人生で初めて作ってみた。

肉じゃがはよく日本で’母の味’といわれます。

ニンジン、じゃがいも、たまねぎ、豚肉。

うーん、トマトシチューを作ったときと似てるなあ。

それから醤油、お酒、砂糖で調味料を作成。

完成型は写真のような感じ。

これも本当においしかった。

料理の才能があるかも。

21 August, 2008 1DOLLAR SHOP

I often go shopping to the 1Dollar shop to buy snacks, bevarages, wiriting material and more.

Formal shop's name is DOLLARAMA.

The quality is not so good because they are only 1 dollar, but everyday there are a lot ot customes in the shop.

Esepecially we can see many Japanse and Korean there.

The biggest problem at this shop is bad manner of workers.

When I went to there just before closing in 5 minutes, workes said to me 'Don't enter, we are closing.'

The owner of this shop must train them again.

僕はよく１ダラーショップに菓子、飲み物、文房具などを買いに行きます。

正式な店の名前はダララマ。

１ドルなだけあって品質はよくないが、毎日たくさんのお客さんがいる。

特に日本人と韓国人をよく見る。

この店のおっきな問題は店員の態度が悪い。

閉店５分前に行った時、「もう閉めるから入るな」言われた。
店長は彼らを再教育するべきだ。

19 August, 2008 JOB from morning

Today was the first day for me to work from morning (9:00am - 5:00pm).

Today my partner was DEYON who is from... I forgot.

When I first looked at the name, I thought he was from China.

But actually he was an African American.

He taught me how to work kindly.

Today was not so hard, but I felt time past quickly.

Then, today I had a coffee and ate one slice of bread in the morning.

Besaides that I ate a salmon fish burger and fried potatoes in the afternoon.

A meal at this restaurant is really delicious.

Now that I often can't understand what co-workers say.

I thought I had to study harder.

The day I can understand English is a long way away.

今日は初の朝出勤。

今日のパートナーはディオン、どこの出身か忘れてしまった・・・。

最初に名前だけ見た時、中国出身かと思ったら実際には黒人の方だった。

親切にいろいろ教えてもらいました。

今日はあまり忙しくなかったけど時間の経過が早く感じた。

それから、今日は午前中にコーヒーとパンを頂き、その上午後にはサーモンフィッシュバーガーとフライドポテトを食した。

ここのまかないはまじうまいっす。

今になっても同僚が何を言ってるのか理解できないことが多々ある。

もっと勉強しなきゃと実感。

まだまだ道のりは長い。

18 August, 2008 Today's dinner

Today I cooked a little bit of yummy dinner like the picture above!

I didn't have any special reason to do it.

In my apartment, a lot of cans of tomato juice my roommate bought are left over because the taste of it is so terrible that nobody want ot dirnk it.

So I cooked a tomato stew with two cans of tomato juice, a carrot, two potatoes, and some pork.

Then I cooked a roast pork with kimuchi, which was easy to cook.

It took about 40minutes to cook all of it, and they were really delicious!

Especially, the situe was good because of the vegetables, which were boiled enough to be nice and soft.

I wonder what kind of food I should cook next time.

今日は写真のようなちょっとだけスペシャルなディナーを作ってみた。

これといった理由は無し。

アパートには、ルームメイトが以前買ったがあまりのまずさに誰も飲まずに残っているトマトジュースがたくさんある。

なんでそのトマトジュース２缶、にんじん、ジャガイモ、豚肉を使ってトマトシチューを作ってみた。

それから簡単な豚キムチを作ってみた。

全部作るのに大体４０分程かかったがどれもまじうまい！

特にシチューは野菜がよく煮られて柔らかく、うまかった。

次は何つくろうかな。
