13 August, 2008 The first day of working
Today was my first day of work in Vancouver.
I worked from 5:00pm to 12:30am, for seven hours and a half as a dishwasher.
The restaurant I work at has three floors, so it is large and there are a lot of dishes to wash.
Today was busy exactly, but there were three dishwashers including me.
So it wasn't so hard for me but I have three problems.
First one is that dishes are so heavy and hot enough to burn.
I must do exercise to improve my body that is weaker in Japanese society.
Second one is that I can't understand English co-workers speak quickly.
Other dishwasher taught me 'Put them here with a box.' but I put without a box.
He said 'Oh, man... I 'll do it.'
Haaaaah, I sighed.
Third one is the other dishwasher from Mexico listen rock music loudly when we are working.
He enjoys it and works, but I can't listen to instructions.
Of course, there are some good points too.
It really helps me to be able to eat a board which was a big and delicious hamburger today.
Moreover today I could drink a beer when I was working.
Co-workers said it was rare, so I was really lucky!
I went home with Korean co-worker part of the way.
It takes about 45 minutes from my apartment to the workplace by walking.
When I reached my apartment at 1:20am, I was really tired.
Today was short for me.
